Come Join CSIO at Immigrant Youth Speak Out

1/12/2018

Please join us at an Immigrant Youth Speak Out that CSIO and our partners ACEDONE and Margarita Muniz Academy are organizing to support immigrant youth who are targets of the ban, the wall and the raids.

The speak out is led by the East African and Latino/a youth leaders in our joint program. They are sharing their stories and responses to these attacks, and invite other youth to join them (it'll be an open mic for youth). Adults are invited (strongly encouraged!) to come support them! Please join us Saturday, February 25 from 3-5 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain (633 Centre Street, across from the Post Office).

What:

  • El Área del Libre Comercio de las Américas (The Free Trade Zones of the Americas)
  • El neoliberalismo (Neo-liberalism)
  • Los programas de Ajuste Estructural (Structural Adjustment programs)
  • Análisis de la Realidad Estructural (Analysis of structural inequality)

The workshop will use engaging tools that help simplify these concepts, sharpen participants’ understanding of the root causes of economic and social inequity, and help them understand more clearly what lies behind the growing divide between the 1% and the 99%.

Breakfast & Lunch will be provided.
